Underlord + Tiny

Why this works

Putting Tiny and Underlord on the same team seems like a good idea on paper. The plan is usually for Tiny to Toss a key target into Pit of Malice for an easy setup. In practice, their abilities overlap in ways that don't help. Both heroes offer area control and can initiate, but they don't chain their disables well or amplify each other's damage. Underlord wants a long, drawn-out fight where Firestorm and his aura can do their work, while Tiny is all about deleting a single hero with his Avalanche combo. They end up pulling the fight in two different directions.

This disconnect becomes obvious during mid-game teamfights. Tiny will often use his full combo to burst down a support, but the enemy core can then simply walk out of Underlord's spells. Their kits lack a way to hold multiple people down for a long time. For this duo to work, their other three teammates have to bring all the lockdown and sustained damage. The enemy team can usually exploit this by spreading out, kiting the two frontliners, and focusing on whichever teammate Underlord can't protect with his area denial.
