Why this works

Gifting an early Aghanim's Scepter is the main plan here. Alchemist can farm one up for Drow Ranger, unlocking the upgrade that causes her attacks to splinter and hit multiple targets. This is a significant power spike that lets her clear creep waves instantly and apply her attack modifiers across the enemy team in a fight. Getting this item far earlier than she normally could allows Drow to accelerate her own farm and contribute more damage in the mid-game. This strategy hinges entirely on Alchemist’s ability to find the space and time to farm up the gold required.

The whole plan is a race against time. A team with Alchemist and Drow Ranger often lacks early fighting power and can be punished by coordinated pressure, since both heroes are vulnerable and need a lot of resources. If the enemy team can’t shut them down, Drow comes online with a major item advantage, presenting a huge problem. If they do get shut down, the team is left with two under-farmed cores who can't defend their base. The outcome really depends on which team dictates the pace of the first fifteen minutes of the game.
