Alchemist + Earthshaker

Why this works

Pairing these two heroes forces a decision between two different game plans. On paper, Earthshaker’s Fissure provides an ideal long-range setup for Alchemist to land a fully charged Unstable Concoction, securing early kills. The problem is that Alchemist’s entire game revolves around farming as fast as possible with Greevil's Greed, which often means he's busy clearing jungle camps with Acid Spray. This leaves him out of position to capitalize on Earthshaker's initiations. The lane's potential relies on Alchemist pausing his farm to play for kills, which can slow down his core item timings.

This core tension often results in mixed success. In a good game, Alchemist joins for a few key kills set up by Earthshaker before returning to farm, accelerating the whole team's momentum. More often, Earthshaker finds a great Fissure block but lacks the damage to finish the job alone. The combo can come online later, as a big Echo Slam is a great way to start a fight for a farmed Alchemist to clean up. However, the path to that point is uncertain, as the team has to survive Alchemist's intensive farming phase without falling too far behind.
