Alchemist + Mirana

Why this works

Having a Mirana on the team offers Alchemist a bit of breathing room. Moonlight Shadow can act as a global panic button, letting Alchemist escape a gank or farm a slightly more aggressive part of the map. A long-range Sacred Arrow can also turn a bad situation around, or set up a kill for Alchemist when he's ready to fight. This isn't a hard combo, though. The arrow is unreliable, and Mirana often wants to use her ultimate to initiate for the team, not just to save a single farming core. The kits don't clash, but they don't line up perfectly either.

The game often splits into two parts. Alchemist focuses on accelerating his farm with Greevil's Greed, while Mirana roams to create pressure and find pickoffs. They can struggle to connect, as a core Mirana also needs farm and a support Mirana lacks the kind of guaranteed lockdown that an Alchemist wants for his Chemical Rage window. While Alchemist can eventually provide Mirana an Aghanim's Scepter, this is a late-game bonus, not a foundational strategy. The success of the duo depends heavily on whether their separate game plans can converge on objectives before the enemy team shuts them down.
