Alchemist + Shadow Fiend

Why this works

Playing against this duo can feel like you have extra time to organize. Both Alchemist and Shadow Fiend are cores that want to absorb a huge amount of the map's resources to hit their item timings. Alchemist needs to clear stacks for Greevil's Greed to work its magic, and Shadow Fiend wants to do the exact same thing with Shadowraze after pushing out a lane. This often means they're competing for the safest and most lucrative parts of the jungle, slowing each other down slightly as they split the available farm.

This resource tension makes their team's overall game plan a bit clunky. Instead of having one core to protect and another creating space, the team has to split its attention defending two stationary farmers. While both heroes can become monsters with items, this shared requirement makes them more vulnerable to early aggression from the enemy team. If you can disrupt their patterns, it's hard for them to recover simultaneously. They have similar power spikes in the mid-game, but getting both heroes there safely and on schedule is less consistent than with more complementary lineups.
