Alchemist + Riki

Why this works

Putting Alchemist on a team often means dedicating resources to accelerate one key ally. Riki is a natural target for this strategy. The entire game plan revolves around Alchemist farming an early Aghanim's Scepter and giving it to Riki. This allows the Riki to skip a major item purchase and immediately gain a huge teamfight tool by being able to use Tricks of the Trade on an ally. Alchemist’s gold generation directly translates into a much faster power spike for Riki than he could achieve on his own, which can catch an enemy team off guard.

The success of this pairing hinges on the mid-game. If Alchemist has a smooth laning stage, he can deliver the Scepter and create a strong timing window. A Riki with a free Scepter can play around a tanky, Chemical Rage-fueled Alchemist, making initiations messy and chaotic for the opposition. The advantage is only slight because this strategy is predictable and fragile. If the enemy team identifies the plan and successfully pressures Alchemist, delaying his farm, the entire timing is ruined and both heroes can feel underwhelming.
