Alchemist + Slark

Why this works

Trying to get away from a fed Slark is already difficult, but this pairing makes it nearly impossible. Alchemist’s entire game plan is to accelerate an ally’s item progression, and gifting an Aghanim’s Scepter to Slark is one of the most powerful ways to do it. The Scepter upgrade dramatically increases Slark’s mobility and catch potential with a second Pounce charge. This lets him stick to any target long enough to build a mountain of Essence Shift stacks. Alchemist can also use Unstable Concoction to lock a target down, giving Slark a free opening to start his assault.

The game revolves around the Scepter timing. While Alchemist farms, Slark plays a relatively standard game. The moment the Scepter is delivered, the pace explodes. Slark can now hunt aggressively across the entire map, finding pickoffs that other heroes couldn't secure. This forces the enemy team into a terrible position: either group as five and surrender farm, or spread out and get hunted down one by one. If opponents don't successfully punish Alchemist's greed in the first few minutes, they face a mid-game nightmare they can't run from.
