Alchemist + Tidehunter

Why this works

Thinking a big Ravage sets up an easy teamfight win for Alchemist is a common trap. In reality, Alchemist's damage often comes out over time, especially with a physical build. He wants to stand and hit a target for several seconds, but even a perfect Ravage doesn't last forever. While Acid Spray helps soften everyone up, the combo doesn't have the instant team-wiping burst you might see with other heroes. Tidehunter provides a huge window of control, but Alchemist isn't always the fastest hero to capitalize on it before the enemy can recover and scatter.

The game plan is usually for Tidehunter to provide a safety net. His durability in lane and the threat of Ravage gives Alchemist the space he needs to accelerate his farm. If Alchemist gets caught, Ravage is one of the best reset buttons in the game. The duo gives you a very clear path to the mid-game: Alchemist gets rich, and Tidehunter sets up the first big fight. This can feel solid and reliable, but it can also be predictable. An enemy team that respects the setup and plays spread out can often negate the big teamfight threat and simply outmaneuver the slow-and-steady approach.
