Axe + Earthshaker

Why this works

Landing a good Berserker's Call can create the kind of clumped-up fight where Earthshaker thrives. Axe holding several enemies in place gives Shaker a clear opportunity to land an Echo Slam that hits the whole group, and Fissure can then extend the disable or cut off any stragglers. This potential for chain-stunning turns Axe's initiation into a longer, more damaging lockdown. The threat of this combination alone forces opponents to position much more carefully once they see both heroes on the map.

The success of this duo really depends on coordination. Both heroes typically need a Blink Dagger to function, meaning the team is waiting on two key items before the strategy fully comes online. A poorly timed Fissure can easily block Axe from getting his Call, or Axe might jump in when Earthshaker isn't ready to follow up. Since they both want to be the primary initiator, they can step on each other's toes if they aren't on the same page, which often tempers the overall effectiveness of the pair.
