Axe + Hoodwink

Why this works

Setting up a kill on a key target becomes much simpler with this pair. Axe’s Berserker's Call provides the perfect lockdown, forcing enemies to clump together and hold still. This gives Hoodwink an ideal window to land her abilities without any difficult setup. She can easily cast Bushwhack for a guaranteed stun on multiple heroes that are already grouped around Axe, and follow it up with a fully charged Sharpshooter on the primary target. The combination of forced positioning from Axe and the reliable follow-up damage from Hoodwink creates a powerful and straightforward ganking tool.

This dynamic really comes online once Axe gets his Blink Dagger. From that point on, any hero caught out of position is in serious trouble. The enemy team is forced to play cautiously, respecting the initiation range and keeping vision on Axe at all times. Their main goal becomes trying to separate the two, either by bursting Axe before Hoodwink can contribute or by pressuring Hoodwink herself, who can be fragile. Spreading out during fights is critical for the opponents, as a good Call can otherwise set up a fight-winning sequence of spells.
