Axe + Kez

Why this works

Failing to secure map control after a big teamfight often happens when damage doesn't line up with the setup. Axe excels at trapping several enemies together with Berserker's Call, creating a perfect target for area damage. Kez, however, is a duelist who focuses on outplaying a single opponent with his stance-swapping and parries. When Axe locks down a group, Kez can still only focus on one of them, leaving the rest of the setup largely ignored. This fundamental mismatch means the draft lacks a way to efficiently convert Axe's best initiations into clean kills.

As the game progresses, this disconnect becomes more obvious. Axe will land a multi-hero Call, but the fight turns messy because Kez can't provide the widespread damage needed for a quick wipe. The duo is forced to adapt. Either Axe uses his initiation to save Kez from a single threat, which is a defensive use of a powerful offensive tool, or they try to hunt for isolated pickoffs together. This makes their game plan less reliable, depending heavily on the enemy team making positioning mistakes rather than on their own direct strengths.
