Why this works

Securing a kill on a mobile hero often comes down to lockdown, and Axe provides a perfect window with Berserker's Call. The taunt holds a target in place, allowing Morphling to unload his full Waveform and Adaptive Strike combination without the enemy being able to juke or fight back. Morphling's damage is highest when he can commit his full attribute shift to agility, and Axe's initiation gives him the safety to do so. It creates a simple, effective ganking partnership that can be difficult to escape from.

This pairing gives the team a solid way to make plays around the map once Axe gets his Blink Dagger. They can hunt for pickoffs on key targets, which helps create space and can accelerate Morphling's farm if he gets the kills. The threat of this initiation forces opponents to play more cautiously, respecting vision and positioning to avoid getting caught. While the combo relies on Axe landing a good Call, it provides a straightforward game plan that helps a farming core like Morphling have an impact before he is fully six-slotted.
