Axe + Muerta

Why this works

Holding multiple heroes in a Berserker's Call gives Muerta a perfect window to attack freely. When Muerta activates Pierce the Veil, she becomes immune to physical damage, so even if Axe's taunt ends, she's safe from enemy right-clicks. This allows her to fully unload her empowered attacks on stationary targets. Axe provides the lockdown, and Muerta brings the sustained damage to make sure the heroes caught by the taunt can be taken down quickly before they can react. This core initiation combo is the foundation of their game plan.

The partnership can feel disconnected outside of that specific combo, though. The primary threat to Muerta during her ultimate is magic burst, which Axe does little to prevent. An enemy team with heavy spell damage can often ignore Axe and simply blow up Muerta the moment she commits. This forces the pair to rely on perfect timing and vision control to execute their one big play. Without that ideal setup, they function more like two independent heroes who happen to be on the same team rather than a coordinated force.
