Axe + Slark

Why this works

Picking off heroes to build a map advantage can feel a little more consistent with this duo. Axe's Berserker's Call gives Slark the reliable setup he sometimes lacks. A slippery target can often survive Slark by using a mobility spell or stun to prevent him from building Essence Shift stacks. When Axe blinks in and taunts a hero, he creates a crucial window where that target is locked in place. This makes it much easier for Slark to land Pounce and unload his damage without the enemy getting away.

This synergy encourages the enemy team to play grouped up, which can slow down their farm. Axe and Slark are both looking for isolated targets to hunt across the map, especially at night. If they can find a few early kills, they can pressure towers or take Roshan. The main counterplay is good positioning and having save items ready. A Force Staff or a Glimmer Cape used on the called target can disrupt the gank attempt, potentially leaving both Axe and Slark overextended and vulnerable.
