Axe + Templar Assassin

Why this works

Locking down enemies with Berserker's Call seems like the perfect setup for a Templar Assassin to deal her damage. The problem is that both heroes rely heavily on physical attacks to be effective. This means enemy teams can focus on buying armor and make both Axe and Templar Assassin less threatening with the same items. While Axe wants to taunt as many heroes as possible, TA prefers to isolate and burst a single target. It can be difficult for her to focus fire inside the chaos of a multi-hero Call, especially with other bodies soaking up her Psi Blades spill damage.

Early on, this duo can snowball by finding pickoffs on lone heroes. However, their plan often falls apart in later teamfights when opponents group up. Enemies can survive the initial Blink-Call duration, then immediately turn and kill the fragile Templar Assassin. Axe provides no defensive cover for her once his spell is over. The success of this combo hinges entirely on winning the game before opponents can build the right items and start fighting as a unit, which doesn't always happen.
