Axe + Tidehunter

Why this works

Stacking a Ravage on top of a Berserker's Call often feels wasteful. Both spells are meant to be the big initiation that starts a fight, locking down the enemy team so yours can move in. When you use them back-to-back on the same targets, you're layering a stun on top of a taunt, which is redundant. One of the heroes is essentially using their most important cooldown for some extra damage and duration, instead of enabling a whole new play. This overlap means Axe and Tidehunter are often competing to do the same job rather than complementing each other's kits.

This duplication extends to the overall game plan. Both Axe and Tidehunter want to occupy the offlane, need an early Blink Dagger, and function as the team's primary front-liner. Putting them on the same team creates a resource conflict from the very start of the game. It forces one of them into a less ideal role or position, slowing down their key item timings. The draft can feel very one-dimensional, with two beefy initiators but often not enough follow-up damage or other forms of utility to capitalize on their control.
