Batrider + Legion Commander

Why this works

Setting up a clean Duel often looks easy with a Batrider on the team, but the two heroes can end up competing for the same role. Both want to be the one to jump a key target and isolate them. Using Flaming Lasso to drag an enemy into a Duel is effective, but it means you’re using two major ultimates on one hero, which can be inefficient. The real issue comes up against spell immunity. Legion Commander’s Duel goes through it, but Batrider’s Lasso does not. This forces them to have different primary targets as soon as BKBs come out, splitting their focus instead of combining it.

In the mid-game, this pair can punish poor positioning by dragging a solo hero into the entire team. But a coordinated opponent will simply build to counter initiations. Once the enemy cores have spell immunity, Legion Commander is forced to hunt them alone, while Batrider has to find a different target to Lasso, usually a support. This works, but it isn't the clean pick-off combo people expect. The enemy team knows exactly who each hero wants to target, and can position their saves and bodies accordingly to disrupt the setup, leaving the whole plan feeling disjointed.
