Batrider + Slark

Why this works

Pulling one hero out of position with Flaming Lasso creates a perfect kill window. Slark can follow up with Pounce to make sure that target never gets away, securing a kill. The issue is that both heroes are specialists in single-target isolation. Committing both Batrider's primary teamfight spell and Slark's mobility to kill one enemy can be inefficient. This leaves your team with fewer resources to handle the remaining opponents in the fight that follows the initial pickoff, as neither hero provides much area-of-effect damage or control.

This duo can create a strong tempo by repeatedly finding kills in the early and mid-game, allowing Slark to snowball. The strategy falls apart when enemies group up and force five-on-five fights. Finding a safe Lasso becomes much harder, and if the target dies too quickly, Slark doesn't get to build many Essence Shift stacks. The combo is very predictable and relies on the enemy team making positioning mistakes. If they play disciplined, both heroes can struggle to find their ideal engagement and have a hard time contributing to a full teamfight.
