Bounty Hunter + Lion

Why this works

Pairing up for ganks seems simple enough. Bounty Hunter can find an enemy with Track, allowing Lion to walk in and land his lockdown from Earth Spike and Hex. The problem is execution. Both heroes are fragile and need to get a clean jump to be effective. If their target survives the initial burst or has allies nearby, the gank can be turned around very quickly. Their damage is almost entirely focused on a single hero, and if they can't secure that one kill before help arrives, their attempt often results in one or both of them dying instead.

The combo lives and dies by its ability to snowball. Successful pick-offs provide Track gold that can accelerate Lion’s core items like a Blink Dagger, making him a much bigger threat around the map. The trade-off is that this roaming duo provides almost no ability to push lanes or defend towers. In larger fights, their plan is to instantly delete one person. If that plan fails because of saves or good positioning, their contribution drops off sharply. It's a high-risk approach that needs to get ahead early to compensate for its strategic weaknesses.
