Bounty Hunter + Venomancer

Why this works

Trying to burst a target for Track gold becomes complicated when your main source of extra damage is slow-acting poison. Bounty Hunter needs to get in, kill a hero quickly, and get out. He excels when paired with heroes who can provide lockdown or a big burst of magic damage to secure those kills. Venomancer provides neither. His damage is all dealt over time through spells like Poison Sting and Venomous Gale. This style of attrition doesn't help Bounty Hunter finish anyone off; instead, it gives the enemy time to react, escape, or even turn the gank around.

This clash in styles means the team often lacks a clear game plan. Bounty Hunter wants to roam the map creating pressure with ganks, while Venomancer is more focused on controlling space with Plague Wards and winning large, drawn-out teamfights with Poison Nova. This leaves Bounty Hunter without the support he needs to snowball from early kills, and it leaves Venomancer's teamfights lacking the hard initiation or control that would better complement his damage-over-time. They end up playing two separate games, rarely enabling each other's core strengths.
