Bristleback + Death Prophet

Why this works

Grouping these two heroes together creates a lineup that can feel a bit one-dimensional. Both Bristleback and Death Prophet want to play a similar role: be the durable front-liner who runs at the enemy. The problem is that neither of them offers reliable lockdown. Bristleback provides a slow with Viscous Nasal Goo and Death Prophet has a silence, but core targets can often use mobility spells or items to escape. This means you have two very tanky heroes who can pump out a lot of sustained damage, but they struggle to actually hold anyone in place long enough to secure a kill.

The main strength of this pairing is their ability to pressure buildings. With Bristleback tanking the tower and Death Prophet using Exorcism, they can take objectives very quickly. In teamfights, however, their shared weakness becomes apparent. An enemy team with good kiting or disengage can often split them up, stay at a safe distance, and simply wait out the Exorcism duration. The success of this duo often falls on the rest of your team to provide the stuns and initiation that Bristleback and Death Prophet are missing, which is why the pairing can feel a bit awkward to build around.
