Bristleback + Disruptor

Why this works

You'd think this combo would be straightforward: Disruptor traps a hero with his ultimate, and Bristleback runs them over. In practice, their styles don't always line up. Bristleback deals his damage through accumulating Quill Spray stacks in extended fights, not by delivering a quick burst of damage. He excels when enemies are chasing him or stuck in a long brawl. Disruptor’s lockdown holds one hero in place for a set duration, but it doesn't guarantee the instant kill that a true burst carry could provide. The target often survives the initial lockdown, and by the time Bristleback has done his work, the moment is gone.

During the laning phase, a well-timed Glimpse can certainly set up a kill for Bristleback, especially near a tower. As the game goes on, this becomes less reliable. In teamfights, if Disruptor catches an important core, the enemy team can often ignore that hero for a few seconds and focus on killing Disruptor or other supports instead. Bristleback is durable but isn't great at peeling for his backline. The success of the combo ends up depending on the enemy team making the mistake of trying to save the trapped hero, which allows Bristleback to get his spells off on multiple targets.
