Why this works

Facing this pair can feel less threatening than other combinations. Kunkka’s game revolves around setting up a specific kill window with X Marks the Spot, pulling a target back for a combo. Bristleback, however, wants to create a messy, drawn-out fight by running straight at the enemy team, building up damage from Quill Spray over time. These two approaches often work against each other. The target Kunkka pulls back may not be the one Bristleback is focused on, and the brief control from Torrent isn't the kind of hard lockdown Bristleback needs to stick to a target and stack his spells.

Throughout the game, this duo can struggle to find a cohesive rhythm. Both Kunkka and Bristleback tend to occupy a similar role as space-making cores who need farm to be effective, which can strain a team's resources. While a good Ghostship certainly makes Bristleback tankier, it doesn't fix the fundamental disconnect in how they want to engage. Your team is forced to play around two different tempos, while the enemy can often exploit the lack of immediate, reliable lockdown to separate them and take fights on their own terms.
