Bristleback + Lina

Why this works

Drafting these two cores together often means you have plenty of damage but not enough control. Bristleback is excellent at running at the enemy and forcing a reaction with his slows and constant Quill Spray. However, he doesn't have a reliable stun to hold targets in place. This puts all the pressure on Lina to land a difficult Light Strike Array without any setup. The result is that while both heroes can output a lot of hurt, their kits don't actively help each other secure kills. They end up feeling like two solo damage dealers playing near each other rather than a coordinated pair.

This dynamic often leads to awkward mid-game fights. Bristleback will charge in, expecting to start a brawl where he can thrive, but the enemy team can often reposition or scatter. Lina then has to find a target of opportunity from a distance, hoping they stand still long enough for her combo. If the opponents are mobile or have good saves, they can kite Bristleback and dodge Lina's spells, leaving both heroes unable to apply their damage effectively. The pair's success relies too heavily on enemy mistakes rather than their own inherent strengths.
