Bristleback + Muerta

Why this works

Protecting a backline Muerta can be awkward when your frontliner is Bristleback. His entire kit encourages him to run at the enemy and force them to deal with his back, slowing them with Goo as they try to disengage. He doesn’t have a stun or any tool to peel an assassin off a friendly target. Muerta has her own Dead Shot for a bit of self-preservation, but she is fundamentally a stationary turret who needs someone to hold enemies down or away from her. Bristleback creates chaos and draws attention, but he provides very little actual protection, leaving his partner vulnerable.

This disconnect often defines their mid-game teamfights. Bristleback will charge in, creating a frontline, and smart enemies will simply walk past him to collapse on the exposed Muerta. While he's busy spamming Quill Spray on the enemy supports, his own core is getting blown up. This pairing relies heavily on the enemy team lacking heroes that can effectively dive the backline. If they can't punish Muerta's positioning, the duo can function by brute force. But against any coordinated dive, Bristleback often can't do much to help his partner survive the initial burst.
