Why this works

Trying to burst down one of these heroes is often the wrong move. If they try to go on Necrophos instead, he can use Ghost Shroud to avoid physical damage while Bristleback unloads Quill Sprays on their backline. All the while, Heartstopper Aura is draining anyone who gets close, setting them up for a clean Reaper's Scythe.

This duo wants to force long, grinding fights in the mid-game. Bristleback creates space and soaks up attention, slowly stacking his damage, while Necrophos sustains the push and provides the final execution. It forms a durable front line that can be very difficult to break without specific tools. The main weakness is their lack of mobility. Teams that can kite effectively or split them up can avoid fighting on their terms. A coordinated burst of magic damage can also isolate and eliminate Necrophos before he has a chance to impact the fight, which keeps this pairing from being overwhelming.
