Why this works

Picking these two cores together presents a puzzle for farm distribution. Both Bristleback and Terrorblade are hungry for gold and need to hit their item timings to be effective. Bristleback wants to be the unkillable frontliner, constantly running at the enemy team, while Terrorblade needs safe space to farm the map with illusions before he can join fights with Metamorphosis. This often leads to them competing for the same safe lanes and jungle camps, potentially slowing down both of their game plans. Neither hero is particularly good at playing from behind, so a slow start for one can drag the other down too.

The game's success often hinges on Bristleback's ability to create enough chaos to buy time for Terrorblade. If Bristleback can draw multiple heroes to deal with him, Terrorblade gets the free map he needs to take towers and out-farm everyone. A timely Sunder from Terrorblade on a low-health Bristleback can also turn a fight. However, since both heroes primarily deal physical damage, opponents can efficiently counter them with armor and disarms. This makes your team's damage output predictable and easy to itemize against, which often cancels out the space-creation potential.
