Bristleback + Viper

Why this works

Facing down this pair feels oppressive. One hero is constantly spitting slows and corrosive magic from a distance, while the other runs at you stacking up physical damage from Quill Spray. The combined slows from Viper and Bristleback can make it impossible to trade effectively or retreat in a straight line. The problem is that neither hero brings a hard stun. All that slow and damage-over-time pressure doesn't mean much if the target can simply teleport out or use a mobility spell to create space.

This lane can be very strong, bullying opponents out with constant aggression. The trouble starts later when teams group up. Both Bristleback and Viper want to play a long, drawn-out fight on their own terms, but they don't directly enable each other beyond applying pressure. Bristleback draws attention but can't lock anyone down for Viper, and Viper's slows don't stop enemies from blinking onto him. Smart opponents will often ignore the tanky Bristleback and focus down Viper, leaving the combo feeling a bit disconnected.
