Bristleback + Weaver

Why this works

Running at the enemy with these two heroes seems strong on paper, but the reality is that they don't enable each other. Bristleback needs targets to be held down to build up Quill Spray stacks and slow them with Viscous Nasal Goo. Weaver offers very little in the way of stuns or lockdown to help with that. Likewise, Weaver wants to get attacks off on a controlled target, but Bristleback can't provide that setup. Both heroes are self-sufficient survivors, but they don't combine their strengths. Instead, they both want a different teammate to create the opportunities for them.

This dynamic can make teamfights feel disorganized. Bristleback wades into the fight to draw attention, but enemies can often ignore him or walk away because there's no hard disable keeping them in range. Weaver is then left looking for an opening on the perimeter, unable to fully capitalize on the space Bristleback creates. A smart opponent will simply split their focus, kiting Bristleback while pressuring the more fragile Weaver. While both heroes have great escapes with Bristleback's passive and Weaver's Time Lapse, those abilities only save themselves, often leaving their partner to fend for themselves.
