Bristleback + Windranger

Why this works

Setting up a kill for this pair can be awkward. Windranger needs a target to be locked down or positioned perfectly for Shackleshot, but Bristleback's Viscous Nasal Goo only offers a slow. This makes it difficult for Windranger to land her ideal stun and follow up with Focus Fire. On the other side of things, Bristleback wants to create a messy, drawn-out brawl where he can stack Quill Sprays on multiple heroes. Windranger’s kit is mostly single-target, so she doesn't contribute much to the widespread chaos that Bristleback thrives on. They both do a lot of damage, but they don't help each other apply it effectively.

The game plan often feels split. Bristleback charges into the enemy team, trying to be a disruptive front-liner, while Windranger hangs back looking for a pick-off. If she fails to find that perfect angle for a stun, her impact in the fight drops off significantly. The team can end up lacking a reliable initiator or strong teamfight control, as neither hero truly provides it for the other. It's not that the combination can't work—a good Shackleshot can still win a fight—but their core designs don't amplify each other's strengths, leading to fights that feel less coordinated than they should be.
