Broodmother + Lion

Why this works

Pairing a support with Broodmother usually means thinking about how to sustain her push. The issue with Lion is that his kit doesn't really solve Broodmother's core problems. His single-target lockdown from Hex and Earth Spike is fine for setting up a kill on a lone hero, but it does nothing to stop the big area-of-effect spells that clear out her spider army. Broodmother needs help surviving or controlling enemies who want to wipe her board, and Lion's focused control doesn't provide that kind of protection for her wider swarm.

This leaves them in an awkward spot on the map. For the combo to work, Lion has to shadow Broodmother to provide lockdown for her ganks, but this often means abandoning the other lanes. If he leaves to go help elsewhere, Broodmother is left without a reliable stun to catch enemies in her webs, making it harder for her to snowball. They end up pulling in different directions, with neither hero amplifying what the other wants to do. The game plan feels disjointed, as if they are playing for two separate win conditions.
