Broodmother + Pudge

Why this works

Setting up kills with a Meat Hook into a web-covered lane can be a decent plan. Pudge provides a long-duration lockdown with Dismember, which gives Broodmother and her spiders an easy target to overwhelm. The main problem is that this setup is often awkward to execute. Broodmother needs to stay within her web network to be effective, while Pudge typically wants to find hooks from hidden positions in the trees, which may not overlap with Brood's territory. This makes it difficult to consistently coordinate their single-target burst potential.

As the game develops, their overall strategies tend to diverge. Broodmother excels at taking over one lane and the adjacent jungle, constantly applying pressure to towers. Pudge, by contrast, is a roamer who wants to be active all over the map. This frequently leads to them playing separate games entirely. If they can't secure a strong lead with early pickoffs, this duo struggles against teams that group up. They lack the tools to handle a coordinated five-man push, as both heroes are built around picking off isolated targets, not winning large-scale teamfights.
