Broodmother + Slark

Why this works

Playing on the enemy's side of the map is key for both Broodmother and Slark, and that's where the problem starts. Both heroes want to claim enemy territory to accelerate. Broodmother uses Spin Web to create a fortress in a lane and its adjacent jungle, farming and pushing constantly. At the same time, Slark wants to use Shadow Dance to lurk in those same jungles, hunting for supports to build Essence Shift stacks. They end up competing for the same farm and gank opportunities, which can easily starve one of them out and delay crucial item timings.

This forces the duo to be very deliberate about splitting the map. If they can coordinate and pressure opposite sides, they can stretch the enemy team thin. Broodmother might take the enemy safelane while Slark hunts their triangle. When this doesn't happen, one hero is left playing in a less-than-ideal area, slowing their momentum. The draft lacks natural teamfight synergy, instead relying on two independent, single-target cores to win their respective parts of the game. If one falters, the whole strategy tends to fall apart.
