Centaur Warrunner + Drow Ranger

Why this works

Pairing these two heroes often creates a tension around positioning in teamfights. Centaur Warrunner wants to use Stampede to charge directly into the enemy team and land a Hoof Stomp. For Drow Ranger, this is awkward. Joining the charge puts her in melee range, where she is most vulnerable and loses her Marksmanship damage bonus. While Stampede is a great escape and repositioning tool for Drow, using it offensively forces her to play against her own strengths. Centaur’s initiation is about closing the distance, while Drow’s entire game plan is about maintaining it.

The success of this duo depends heavily on the enemy's formation. If Centaur can Stampede past the frontline and disrupt their backline, it can create enough space for Drow to safely pick off targets. More often, though, Centaur gets stuck on the enemy tanks, and Drow is left shooting at whatever is in front of her without a clear setup. She can use her Frost Arrows to help Centaur connect, but the core problem remains: his ideal target for a stun is often deep in the fight, far from where she wants to be standing. It makes their coordination feel reactive rather than proactive.
