Why this works

Putting two hard carries on the same team creates a difficult map, as both Chaos Knight and Faceless Void need significant farm to come online. This often slows down the game plan for both heroes, making objectives harder to contest. The main point of synergy comes when Chronosphere is available. A well-placed Chronosphere gives Chaos Knight a perfect window to use Phantasm and Reality Rift, overwhelming a target with his illusions. This allows the duo to secure a key kill if the target is isolated and lacks defensive items.

The success of this pairing hinges on surviving the early and mid-game. If the team cannot create enough space for two greedy cores, the strategy often falls apart before it begins. Opponents will frequently group up and push towers early to punish the lack of immediate map presence. Even with successful Chronosphere setups, enemies can counter the all-physical damage with armor items or Ghost Scepters. The game often comes down to whether Faceless Void and Chaos Knight can hit their timings before the enemy takes decisive control.
