How Chen and Lion perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Chen and Lion win 43.34% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 3,290 matches.
Casting Penitence on a target does nothing to amplify Lion's Finger of Death, which points to the core problem with this duo. Chen's kit is built around enabling his army of creeps and physical damage dealers, while Lion is a pure magical burst hero. This conflict extends to their game plan. Both heroes act as playmakers and require significant levels and resources to be effective, making for a greedy support pair. Chen wants to group up and push early with his creeps. Lion is more focused on finding individual pickoffs with his disables. These plans don't overlap well, often leaving the team feeling disjointed and unable to commit to a single strategy.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
