Crystal Maiden + Slardar

Why this works

Thinking about Corrosive Haze is the wrong way to look at this pair. The advantage isn't about armor reduction, since Crystal Maiden deals mostly magic damage. Instead, the synergy comes from Arcane Aura. Slardar is a hero who wants to be aggressive and use his spells, but his mana pool can't keep up. The global mana regeneration lets him spam Slithereen Crush to farm, push waves, and look for ganks without needing to constantly return to base. A simple Frostbite from Crystal Maiden also provides the perfect setup for him to close the distance and chain his stun.

This lets the lane play very aggressively from the start, looking for kills with the lockdown chain. As the game goes on, Slardar transitions into the primary initiator. While his armor reduction won't amplify Freezing Field's damage, his ability to blink in and stun a target is often exactly what Crystal Maiden needs to channel her ultimate safely on a priority hero. The plan relies on them playing together; if Slardar jumps too far ahead or if enemies get to the backline and kill Maiden first, the whole thing fizzles out.
