Dark Seer + Faceless Void

Why this works

Picking these two heroes is a bet on landing a specific, high-impact combo. The plan is for Dark Seer to use Vacuum to pull enemies into a perfect clump for Faceless Void's Chronosphere. An Ion Shell on Void before he jumps in adds a good bit of area damage to the lockdown. The problem is that both ultimates are on long cooldowns, and getting the timing right under pressure is harder than it looks. If the Vacuum is even slightly late, it does nothing to enemies already frozen by Chronosphere, effectively wasting a major spell.

A well-executed combo can certainly win a fight, especially if Dark Seer also lands a good Wall of Replica for Void to tear through. In practice, though, the coordination is often clunky. Faceless Void might need to use Chronosphere to save himself or catch one key target, leaving Dark Seer unable to set up his own spells. Because their laning phases are completely separate, the game can swing against them before they ever get a clean chance to connect. The success of the pairing often comes down to that perfect timing, which can be a real gamble from game to game.
