Dark Willow + Hoodwink

Why this works

Combining their lockdowns seems strong on paper, but the setup is often awkward. Hoodwink needs a specific tree angle to land Bushwhack, while Dark Willow’s Cursed Crown has a delay before it stuns. This timing mismatch means you can’t reliably chain their spells together for an easy kill. Instead of one hero setting up a clean stun for the other, you get two heroes trying to land conditional disables at the same time. Both want to play from the edges of a fight, casting spells from safety, but neither provides the instant, reliable catch that would make the other’s job easier.

Through the laning stage, this means opponents can often escape situations that look like certain death. Later on, the team composition can feel fragile. Both Dark Willow and Hoodwink are evasive, but they don't offer much in the way of a front line or a way to save a core who gets jumped. This leaves your team with two squishy supports who compete for safe positioning in the back. If the enemy team has strong initiation, they can often overwhelm this duo before their combined damage and control can turn the fight.
