Dark Willow + Ogre Magi

Why this works

Picking these two supports together creates a lane with a lot of lockdown potential. Ogre Magi can easily set up for Dark Willow with a Fireblast, guaranteeing that she lands a Cursed Crown or traps an enemy in Bramble Maze. This chain of control and magic damage can be overwhelming for many offlaners. The main point of friction, however, is Bloodlust. It's one of Ogre's most impactful spells, granting attack and movement speed, but Dark Willow is a spellcaster who gets almost no benefit from it. A major part of Ogre's value is directed away from his laning partner, creating a slight awkwardness in their dynamic.

This pairing often has a strong laning phase, bullying opponents and securing kills with their combined disables. As the game moves into the mid game, however, the lack of deeper synergy becomes more apparent. Ogre Magi will naturally prioritize buffing his physical damage cores, while Dark Willow focuses on finding teamfight position and landing her own spells. They can exist on the same team and contribute individually, but they don't amplify each other's kits in a significant way. The early kill threat is balanced out by the mismatched abilities, leading to a partnership that feels functional but rarely exceptional.
