Dark Willow + Pangolier

Why this works

Facing this duo often feels like their own abilities are working against each other. Pangolier's Rolling Thunder is all about bouncing enemies around and clumping them up for follow-up stuns. Dark Willow's kit, however, either wants to hold enemies still with Bramble Maze or scatter them completely with Terrorize. Using Terrorize during a Rolling Thunder can send targets running safely away from Pangolier, wasting his ultimate completely. He can also easily knock someone out of a Bramble patch or away from an ally just before Cursed Crown detonates, breaking the lockdown chain.

Throughout a game, this leads to messy, uncoordinated fights. Instead of setting up clean kills, Pangolier and Dark Willow often have to hold their spells, afraid of ruining the other's initiation. The result is a lack of reliable, single-target burst, as their control spells actively conflict. An opponent caught by one hero is frequently saved by the other's mis-timed ability. This forces them to play as two separate heroes rather than a cohesive pair, reducing their impact in the crucial mid-game teamfights where coordination is everything.
