Dark Willow + Silencer

Why this works

Pairing a Global Silence with Dark Willow's control sounds good on paper, but the spells don't always build on each other effectively. Cursed Crown's delayed stun, for example, often lands on a target that's already been silenced by Silencer. This overlap means you're getting less value out of your lockdown chain than you'd expect. Instead of a clean setup and follow-up, you get two heroes trying to solve the same problem—spellcasters—without necessarily covering other threats. The result is a combination that can feel redundant at key moments.

During teamfights, this can lead to awkward situations where Global Silence and Terrorize are used near the same time, wasting a huge amount of control. While both heroes provide a lot of magic damage and disruption, they are also both fragile and require good positioning to survive. A draft with both Silencer and Dark Willow can sometimes feel like it's missing a core component, like a durable initiator or a reliable save. They aren't actively working against each other, but they aren't amplifying each other's strengths in the way a more complementary pairing would.
