Dark Willow + Vengeful Spirit

Why this works

Setting up a kill with this pair can feel straightforward. Vengeful Spirit provides a reliable stun with Magic Missile, giving Dark Willow a perfect window to land her own Cursed Crown or a well-placed Bramble Maze. This lockdown chain is often long enough for Willow to get significant damage from Bedlam or a fully charged Shadow Realm attack. Nether Swap from Vengeful Spirit can also be a decent tool to either save a fragile Dark Willow who gets caught out, or to initiate on a key target by bringing them directly into Willow's spell range.

The combo is most effective during early ganks and lane skirmishes where a single stun can secure a kill. As the game progresses, the effectiveness can fall off. Dark Willow's damage is almost entirely magical, so Vengeful Spirit’s Wave of Terror armor reduction doesn't help her burst potential. Similarly, Vengeance Aura is a nice bonus but doesn't amplify Willow's core contribution. Both heroes are also quite fragile, and a coordinated enemy team can often turn on them and blow them up before they can execute their full spell rotation, leading to an even trade at best.
