Dazzle + Shadow Fiend

Why this works

Saving Shadow Fiend during his Requiem of Souls with Shallow Grave is the ideal play here. In theory, it lets him survive point-blank to deal maximum damage. The reality is that stuns and hexes still interrupt his ultimate, and any decent opponent will save one for him. This forces Dazzle to get close to apply the save, exposing him to danger. The whole setup requires perfect positioning and timing from both heroes, and it assumes the enemy team will let it happen. It's a big, telegraphed play that can easily be picked apart.

The success of this pairing often hinges entirely on those mid-game fights. Before then, Dazzle and Shadow Fiend are usually in different lanes with little direct interaction. If their Requiem combo doesn't translate into a tower or Roshan, they can struggle to find another win condition. The enemy's plan becomes straightforward: either kill Dazzle first to prevent the save, or simply hold a disable for Shadow Fiend's channel. When your core strategy can be undone by a single enemy spell, the game becomes very fragile and unpredictable.
