Dazzle + Skywrath Mage

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together is a bet on a simple, defensive idea. Skywrath Mage can output an immense amount of magic damage but is incredibly fragile. Dazzle’s main contribution is Shallow Grave, which allows Skywrath to survive being focused long enough to cast his full combo, especially Mystic Flare. Shadow Wave also helps keep Skywrath healthy during the laning stage. The problem is their offensive abilities don't line up. Bad Juju's armor reduction does nothing for Skywrath’s magic-based spells, and they both offer slows without providing the hard lockdown needed to guarantee a kill.

During the lane, they can be a nuisance, with Dazzle’s healing enabling Skywrath to trade spells aggressively. However, actually killing an opponent often requires help from a rotating teammate. Later on, the entire game plan revolves around Dazzle saving Skywrath at the perfect moment. If opponents can silence or stun Dazzle first, the combo falls apart completely. Experienced teams will anticipate the Shallow Grave, either by focusing Dazzle or simply disengaging until the effect expires, leaving the pair with very few alternative ways to win a teamfight.
