Death Prophet + Tidehunter

Why this works

Facing down a Ravage followed by Exorcism is a classic nightmare scenario. Tidehunter provides the perfect setup, locking down multiple heroes for a long duration, which is exactly what Death Prophet needs to get maximum value from her spirits. The two ultimates have a clear and powerful interaction: one hero holds them still while the other melts them down. The problem is that both abilities come with very long cooldowns. If the initial burst doesn't secure a fight-winning advantage, both heroes are left with significantly less impact until their signature spells are ready again. This makes the pair's contribution feel very concentrated and predictable.

The game plan for this duo becomes centered around those two cooldowns. When Ravage and Exorcism are up, they are a huge threat. When they're not, the team can feel powerless. Opponents quickly learn to respect these timings, disengaging or splitting up when they see Death Prophet and Tidehunter grouped and ready. Outside of this big ultimate combo, their kits don't offer much else for each other. Tidehunter’s slows are nice, but they don't solve DP's core vulnerabilities or dramatically amplify her strengths beyond the obvious setup. This leaves their success feeling very dependent on landing that one perfect fight.
