Disruptor + Phoenix

Why this works

Setting up for a teamfight with this pair creates a difficult problem for the enemy. Disruptor can trap key heroes with Kinetic Field and Static Storm, and this area of control gives Phoenix a safer window to use his own spells. Placing a Supernova inside a Static Storm, for instance, makes it much harder for opponents to react and kill the egg with spells. The silence and damage over time from Disruptor's ultimate can force enemies to either flee or take a very unfavorable fight, giving Phoenix the space he needs to be effective.

In a real game, this combo relies on finding enemies grouped up, usually around objectives. It gives the team a solid way to initiate and control a five-on-five engagement. However, opponents with good vision can see the setup coming and spread out, making it difficult to catch the right targets. Heroes with high physical damage can also still focus the Supernova egg, and mobility items or a Black King Bar can allow a core to escape the trap. The potential is there for a strong teamfight, but it requires careful coordination and is far from guaranteed.
