Disruptor + Sand King

Why this works

Sharing the map can feel awkward for this pair, as both heroes want similar core items to initiate fights effectively. On paper, Sand King and Disruptor seem like they should have a straightforward setup, but their ultimate timings can conflict. Sand King wants to channel Epicenter from the fog before blinking in, while Disruptor is looking for a Glimpse or a clear target to trap with Kinetic Field and Static Storm. The hero who goes second often finds their spell is less impactful; either the target has already been moved by the first hero, or the initial burst of damage has already passed.

This leads to fights where their big spells feel disconnected. You'll often see Sand King find a multi-hero Burrowstrike but Disruptor is too far away to follow up with Static Storm. Or, a perfect Glimpse happens but the Epicenter channel isn't finished. While they can lock a single target down for a long time, the setup is often clunky and requires more coordination than simpler pairings. Enemies can exploit this by positioning to bait out one ultimate, knowing the other hero may not be ready to contribute theirs in the same instant.
