Why this works

Putting these two heroes on a team creates a lineup heavy on attrition but often light on kill threat. Both Dragon Knight and Venomancer excel at wearing down opponents over a long period. A big Poison Nova followed by Dragon Breath can reduce an entire team's health, but the damage is spread out and happens over time. This gives enemies a window to react, use defensive spells, or simply walk away. The core issue is that neither hero brings the instant burst damage needed to finish the job that the other one starts.

This dynamic means teamfights can feel frustrating. Venomancer applies his poison and Dragon Knight tanks up in his Elder Dragon Form, but they often lack the tools to lock down and eliminate a key target quickly. A single stun from Dragon Knight isn't enough to guarantee a kill on a hero melting from poison. While they can pressure towers effectively with Plague Wards and Elder Dragon Form, they can struggle to convert this map pressure into decisive fight wins, allowing opponents to reset and punish their lack of lockdown.
