Drow Ranger + Earthshaker

Why this works

Setting up for a teamfight, the dream is for Earthshaker to land a multi-hero Echo Slam or a long-range Fissure. This creates the perfect situation for Drow Ranger: stationary targets that she can freely hit with Multishot and Frost Arrows from a safe distance. The lockdown from Aftershock gives her even more time to deal damage. In theory, he provides the control that she, as a fragile glass cannon, desperately needs to survive and contribute. The core idea is simple: he stuns them, she kills them.

In practice, this synergy can be awkward. The laning phase is often a struggle, as Earthshaker is a melee hero who doesn't offer the sustain or trading power Drow Ranger needs to secure a strong start. Later on, their positioning needs conflict. Earthshaker wants to be in the fray to chain his stuns, while Drow must stay far back to keep her Marksmanship active. If a fight gets chaotic or the enemy team has mobile heroes, they can bypass the initial stun and dive straight onto Drow, who can’t rely on Earthshaker for immediate peel once he’s committed.
